About this Compound
DSIP is a nine-amino-acid neuropeptide first isolated from rabbit cerebral venous blood during induced slow-wave sleep. One of the longest-studied sleep-related peptides, it appears throughout the literature on delta-wave EEG activity, circadian signaling, and hypothalamic-pituitary stress regulation.
Proposed Mechanism
Its receptor remains unidentified, but published studies report promotion of delta-wave (slow-wave) sleep episodes, modulation of cortisol and LH secretion, and normalization of disturbed sleep patterns in stress models.
