How Peptides Are Regulated in Canada
Under Canada’s Food and Drugs Act, a substance is regulated as a drug when it is represented for use in the diagnosis, treatment, mitigation, or prevention of a disease, or to restore, correct, or modify organic functions in humans or animals. A product becomes a drug largely by how it is represented — not only by what it contains.
Peptides that meet the definition of a drug require a Drug Identification Number (DIN) and authorization from Health Canada before they may be marketed or sold for therapeutic use. The compounds offered here are supplied as laboratory reagents. They do not carry a DIN, are not approved by Health Canada for therapeutic use, and are not regulated as natural health products or dietary supplements.

Health Canada has publicly cautioned against the use of unauthorized injectable peptides and has taken enforcement action against products sold for human use without authorization.
