About this Compound

SLU-PP-332 is a synthetic small-molecule agonist of the estrogen-related receptors (ERRα, β, γ) — orphan nuclear receptors that regulate energy metabolism in muscle. It rose to prominence in research as an “exercise mimetic” after rodent studies reported activation of the same oxidative gene programs normally triggered by aerobic training.

Proposed Mechanism

Published rodent work describes increased oxidative (Type IIa fast-oxidative) muscle fiber signaling, elevated fatty-acid oxidation, and increased whole-body energy expenditure without changes in food intake. ERRα is the dominant reported target.
